"Build Resilience”: A Journey Through Generations and Continents by Lucy Chen is now available.
SAN FRANCISCO, March 24, 2024 — Author and coach Lucy Chen is honored to announce that her first book, “Build Resilience: Live, Learn, and Lead” has received its second literary award, taking second place (silver) in the non-fiction book category at the Golden Door Awards 2024.
The Golden Door Gala Dinner & Awards 2024 were held in Singapore where Lucy accepted the Golden Door Nonfiction Book Award Silver Medal alongside other authors from a variety of countries including the USA, Singapore, Malaysia, UK, Sweden, India, Australia, and Cameroon. Hosted by the awards founder, Tahira Amir Sultan Khan, the gala dinner featured an awards ceremony and audience participation in an interactive exercise.
“Amidst the talented writers whose stories are shaping our society, I’m deeply humbled by this recognition. It’s also incredibly humbling to know that attendees traveled or called in from far and wide, spanning regions like South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, South America, the EU, UK, and beyond,” Chen said. “As I celebrate this achievement, I’m reminded of the importance of staying humble. This honor is not just a personal triumph but a testament to the power of storytelling and the support of a global community.”
The Golden Door Book Awards “aims to transform digital content and printed literature by recognising writers and content creators not only for the quality of their writing but also as agents of truth and integrity.” Described as the “World’s first International Writer's Awards for truth and Integrity of digital content and printed literature,” the Golden Book Awards were founded by Tahira Amir Khan in an effort to encourage writers of all types. Since the first awards were held in 2020, authors from 20 countries have participated and been recognized for their literary achievements with international recognition.
“Build Resilience” was released on November 2, 2023. Offering a captivating narrative spanning three generations, two countries, and over eight decades, "Build Resilience" shares the author's remarkable experiences interwoven with down-to-earth principles for conquering life's obstacles. At the heart of this inspiring journey are seven down-to-earth principles that serve as the foundation of resilience. These principles are not just abstract concepts; they are practical tools, forged in the crucible of real-life experiences. "Build Resilience" is a compass for navigating life's ups and downs, providing valuable insights and lessons to help individuals tackle challenges effectively.

About the Author:
Lucy grew up in China and arrived in the US in 1994 for graduate school. After receiving an MS in Environmental Engineering from UCLA in 1996, she delved into engineering and quantitative analysis in the consulting, healthcare, and finance sectors and became a financial risk executive. Lucy is a certified Human Potential Coach and Psychological Fitness Specialist who founded GiftedCoaching.Info, bringing two decades of mentoring and coaching experience.
